Creation Northeast 2006 CANCELLED

Well it's official. Creation Northeast 2006 has been cancelled. Here's what was said in the press release:
--
Creation 2006 Northeast schedule for June 28 - July 1, 2006 has been postponed until June 27 -– June 30, 2007. This difficult decision has been made after much prayer and consideration. Due to the large amounts of rain that have fallen in the past 48 hours and the additional heavy rain fall that is expected this week, festival Administration, in conjunction with local Emergency Management, have concluded that the grounds are not safe for Creation attendees.

Creation 2006 Northeast tickets will be honored at Creation 2007 Northeast. Additional information will be posted on here shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause you. Be assured that this decision has been made for the safety of all attending. We appreciate your continued prayers for the Creation Festival and its staff and look forward to joining together in 2007.

Pastor Harry Thomas
Festival Director
Romans 8:28

Needless to say there will be thousands of disappointed folks including yours truly. It's hard to see something you've invested time and thought into not happen, and I know there are others who have invested countless more hours than myself so it must be even harder on them.

So, no Creation, but we'll all move on to our next endeavors. I've actually been thinking I'd like to check out the Cornerstone festival next year. I've never been to Cornerstone whereas I've been at Creation (either attending or volunteering) for the past 7 or 8 years. I think I'm just feeling the need for a change of scenery.

In any case, canceling (or postponing since they will accept this year's tickets next year) was unavoidable. It seems to be monsoon season here in PA. Driving into work this morning I passed a river that had well overflowed its banks, and it's still raining! I can only imagine the nightmare that awaited Creation staffers and attendees at the festival grounds.

So what will God do with this freed up time?

Several months ago my pastor challenged the congregation to start asking the question, "Okay Lord, what now?" instead of asking, "Why Lord"?

I have to say it's really caused me to cool my jets quite a bit. It also keeps me mindful that God is in control and already has a plan in place. I just have to ask for the new plan.

God Bless Bro,

Lonnie

Proverbs 20:6,7

MANY A MAN PROCLAIMS HIS OWN LOYALTY, BUT WHO CAN FIND A TRUSTWORTHY MAN? A RIGHTEOUS MAN WHO WALKS IN INTEGRITY- HOW BLESSED ARE HIS SON AFTER HIM.

You just broke your leg!!! But you are soooo lucky!!! Just think you can ride in a fast car to the hospital, and no one will get upset with you. Think of all the fun people you'll meet, (ie doctor, nurses). Oh the pain and recovery time, in a couple of weeks you won't even remember it. This is a great adventure for you!!! U probably would be sitting home doing nothing if this didn't happen!! I think I made my point, let's get real!!

Ok if I leave a comment it's actually under my name. This is the ONLY comment I have left, I have not put any other comments on this post. As for that last comment, I'm not sure who made it, but it makes no sense to me.

Sorry to hear about Creation, but I can not say I am surprised... I've been thinking I should check eBay to see if anyone had a nice-sized ark listed...

Then, I remembered that He promised to not do the massive-flooding thing again...and I looked at the western US forcast, where they appear to be itchin' for some precip...

Brother, pray for me... I may have a really good radio opportunity end up in my lap, and I'd have to decide how to handle it...
